Down on the Farm—French Style!

Only in France could a property this grand have begun life as a farmhouse. But that was 1480 and in 2012 it's one of the Aquitaine region's most luxurious homes, with 5 bedrooms in the main house, 3 in the guest cottage, and another one in the pigeonnier (a  tower-like building). Completely revamped with things like new roofing and radiant heat, the $2.3 million dollar home retains original characteristics like thick stone walls, hardwood and brick tile floors, and wood beamed ceilings. The pool (pictured) is walled, so you can paddle or sunbathe in privacy, and there's an adjacent summer kitchen. Oh, and we almost forgot: the property's 25 acres includes forest, meadows, and even your own fishing lake. So start your weekend right by looking at something beautiful—scroll thru the home's exquisite photos here
