The Swede Life

Like the rest of the world, we're obsessed with all things Swedish, from the fiction writers (Henning Mankell) to the food (smorrebrod!) to the actors (The Killing's Joel Kinnaman) to the fashion designers (like Filippa K). Thus, progressing to an obsession with their real estate is natural, and this updated 1800s era 3 bed/2.5 bath on the southwest coast is totally crush-worthy. Priced at $2.2 million (sadly, homes aren't cheap in Scandinavia), the exceptionally bright house sits on a raised street so that views of North Sea are visible from most of its multi-windowed rooms. There's radiant heat, wood and limestone floors, old wood beams, vintage doors, and this gorgeous two-sided fireplace (pictured). Outside is a gardener's paradise with climbing roses, clematis, hydrangeas, lilacs, fig trees and wisteria, among other flora and fauna. You can even pick wild strawberries and grapes right off your own vines! And our romance with Sweden continues...For more info/pics, go here
