We absolutely love Pacific Grove, the quiet town north of flashy Carmel/Pebble Beach, south of raucous Santa Cruz, where you can practically reach out and touch the seals as you walk along the rocky coast and look at tide pools. (Of course, you can also kayak, surf, golf or wait for the monarch butterflies to land—look it up, it's a huge deal here!) This $649K 2 bed/2 bath is a definite steal for any part of the California coast, but especially here. Built in 1952, the beautifully maintained home has a new kitchen and baths and the electric and plumbing have been updated, plus original details like the living room fireplace, beamed ceilings, interior french doors, and picture windows. There's also a study/den, garage, fenced backyard with patio, and Washington Park is around the corner. The butterflies start arriving in October—you could be totally moved in by then!
