Carolina in My Mind

Truth be told, we're not big on James Taylor, but his classic song is kind of catchy and if we imagine that he was writing the song about this particular house? Well, then we'd totally get it. Today's bargain at just $275K, this warm, bright  2 bed/1.5 bath farmhouse was originally constructed in the 19th century, but has been carefully renovated for modern living. Located in Durham, North Carolina on nearly 2 acres of land bordering bucolic Eno River State Park, the home known as "Kinchen Holloway House" (it's on the National Register!) has great updates like the kitchen and baths, but vintage details remain, like 4 fireplaces, hand-planed paneling and wainscoting, heart-pine floors, plus a screened-in porch, gravelled patio, and exterior stone walls. Trust us: it's really nice. Take a closer look here
