Dare of the Day: Under $120K!

Someone we know—a freelancer with nary a benefit in sight—challenged us to find something they could afford with a top budget of $120K (they'd borrow the down payment from the parentals). Their criteria: it has to have charm, 2 bedrooms (for houseguests), hardwood or tile floors (carpeting flares the allergies), a decent kitchen (ie, not a gut job), outdoor space, and not in the burbs. They gave us a few cities to choose from. So: Did we do it? Please. Is Tom Cruise short?
