Oregon or Bust

Oregon has to one of our prettiest states, and Eugene may be its loveliest town. Unofficially called "Emerald City," the town beside the Willamette River and about an hour from the coast is renowned for its liberal attitudes, artistic bent, and stunning natural beauty. (The whole city felt like a sun-dappled green forest to us.) We also like the diversity of the town's real estate and decent prices—for example, this1930 clapboard cottage, with 4 beds/2 baths and vintage details like arched doorways, built-ins and coved ceilings, has an asking price of just $230K. You'd be hard-pressed to find anything with this much charm in a place this beautiful. For more info/pics, go here
